Irina Oshchepkova has worked for ENTSOG for over 7 years. Her main role is to manage ENTSOG Members from 26 EU countries to help build consensus on topics within EU gas transmission sector. She represents ENTSOG in external meetings with the European Commission, the EU Member States’ representatives, ACER and stakeholders from the energy sector.

Irina has led the legal drafting and provided legal support on all the EU network codes for gas transmission: capacity allocation, balancing, tariffs, interoperability and data exchange. Irina also works with issues associated with network codes implementation and monitoring.

More recently, Irina has focused on the development of legislative measures that would help facilitate renewable gas. This includes developing recommendations on Guarantees of Origin for renewable and low-carbon non-renewable gases. Irina co-chaired and led the industry discussion on policy recommendations addressed to the European Commission.

Prior to joining ENTSOG Irina worked for Rosneft Oil Company, White & Case LLP, TNK-BP Management, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and as a legal representative in civil courts. Irina studied in Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) and in Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi (Milan). She holds a Master's Degree in International Economic Law, Energy Policy and Diplomacy, and has a number of publications on the topic of EU-wide gas network codes. Irina is also a qualified yoga instructor and runs a number of weekly classes.
