Nicolas graduated in law magna cum laude from the University of Louvain (UCL) in 2006. He was admitted to the Brussels Bar and joined the lawfirm NautaDutilh that same year. He focused mainly on administrative and environmental law. Three years later, he left NautaDutilh to join the Institut du Patrimoine wallon (Institute for the Walloon Heritage) as a Legal Counsel for 15 months. He was in charge of the legal aspects of the public procurements and real estate fields.  In the meantime and for four years, in September 2007, Nicolas was appointed Teaching Assistant at the University of Louvain (UCL) and he was member of the "Centre Montesquieu pour l'action publique" (a Research Center of the University). He published articles in the fields of public, administrative and environmental law. Since December 2010 he has been working for the Belgian Transmission System Operator for gas Fluxys where he focused on regulatory aspects of the Gas Transport Market. He was especially in charge of the standardization of the contracts and has been involved in the implementation of the new Fluxys’ Entry/Exit Model.
Nicolas is also member of the council of the Belgian Insitute of Company Lawyers (the Board of the Belgian professional Body for company Lawyers).
Nicolas joined ENTSOG in September 2014, he is providing the association with the in house legal support for the on-going activities under the Third Energy Package from operational and corporate perspectives for all the areas including network process development, development of the activities and the association itself. Appointed Head of Legal & Corporate Affairs in April 2021, he is also chairing the ENTSOG Legal Advisory Group.
