External Communication Manager

Carmel graduated with a BSc in Earth Science and a MSc in Material Flows Analysis from University College Cork, Ireland. After travelling and working in Australia for a year, Carmel commenced work as a Project Scientist with RPS Consulting Engineers in Dublin in 2006, working on the planning application for the consent to construct Ireland’s Corrib Onshore Gas Pipeline, which includes the longest gas pipeline tunnel in Europe. Between 2011 and 2015, Carmel was seconded to Shell as an Environmental Advisor for the construction of the Corrib pipeline, a role which provided support to the Shell External Communications team, to enhance community relations and ensure regulatory compliance. Since then, Carmel has worked as a Governance and Regulatory Specialist with Ireland’s national water utility and in 2016 as Environmental Analyst with Gas Networks Ireland (GNI). She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), has a postgraduate diploma in Environmental Engineering from Trinity College Dublin and a diploma in Public Relations from the European Institute of Communications.

Carmel joined ENTSOG in May 2017 and is External Communication Manager.
