A graduate of one of France’s top engineering schools, Thierry Trouvé began his career at the Shipbuilding Department of the French Ministry of Defence. 

In 1990, he joined the Paris transport authority (RATP) to manage the Engineering Department of the IT and Telecommunications division. Six years later, he was appointed Assistant Director in charge of the Regional Technology and Industrial Development branch of the Department of Industry, Research and the Environment in the Nord-Pas de Calais region. This was followed by a move to the energy market, where he joined the French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) to head the electricity market and public utilities division. 

In 2003, he was appointed Director of Pollution and Risk Prevention Operations, working with the French Ministry of Ecology and Sustainable Development.

In 2006, he became Deputy CEO of GRTgaz. 

In 2008, he became CEO of Elengy. 

Thierry Trouvé has been CEO of GRTgaz since April 2013.
